Other symptoms of BPD include impulsive behavior

Other symptoms of BPD include impulsive behavior, intense and unstable interpersonal relationships, unstable self image, feelings of abandonment and an unstable sense of self. An unstable sense of self can lead to periods of dissociation.[2] People with BPD often engage in idealization and devaluation of others, alternating between high positive regard and heavy disappointment or dislike. Such behavior can reflect a black and white thinking style, as well as the intensity with which people with BPD feel emotions. Self harm and suicidal behavior are common and may require inpatient psychiatric care.[3]This disorder is only recognized by the Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders, Fourth Edition (DSM IV) in individuals over the age of 18. However, symptoms of BPD can also be found in children and http://www.wholesalejerseysusa.us.com/ adolescents. Without treatment, symptoms may worsen, potentially leading to suicide attempts.[n 2]There is an ongoing debate about the terminology of this disorder, especially the word "borderline."[4][5] The ICD 10 manual refers to this disorder as Emotionally unstable personality disorder and has similar diagnostic criteria. There is related concern that the diagnosis of BPD stigmatizes people with BPD and supports discriminatory practices.[6]People with BPD feel emotions more easily, more deeply, and for longer than others do.[7] For instance, while an emotion typically fires for 12 seconds, it can last up to 20 percent longer in people with BPD.[8] Moreover, emotions in people with BPD might repeatedly re fire, or reinitiate, prolonging their emotional reactions even further.[8] Consequently, it can take a long time for people with BPD to return to a stable emotional baseline following an intense emotional experience.[9]The sensitivity, intensity, and duration with which people with BPD feel emotions have both positive and negative effects.[9] People with BPD are often exceptionally idealistic, joyful, and loving.[10] However, they can feel overwhelmed by negative emotions, experiencing intense grief instead of sadness, shame and humiliation instead of mild embarrassment, rage instead of annoyance, and panic instead of nervousness.[10] People with BPD are especially sensitive to feelings of rejection, isolation, and perceived failure.[n 3] Before learning other coping mechanisms, their efforts to manage or escape from their intense negative emotions can lead to self injury or suicidal behavior.[11] They are often aware of the intensity of their negative emotional reactions and, since they cannot regulate them, shut them down entirely.[9] This can be harmful to people with BPD, as negative emotions alert people to the presence of a problematic situation and move them to address it.[9]While people with BPD also feel joy intensely, they are especially prone to dysphoria, or feelings of mental and emotional distress. Zanarini et al recognize four categories of dysphoria that are typical of this condition: extreme emotions; destructiveness or self destructiveness; feeling fragmented or lacking identity; and feelings of victimization.[12] Within these categories, a BPD diagnosis is strongly associated with a combination of three specific states: 1) feeling betrayed, 2) "feeling like hurting myself", and 3) feeling completely out of control.[12] Since there is great variety in the types of dysphoria experienced by people with BPD, the amplitude of the distress is a helpful indicator of borderline personality disorder.[12]In addition to intense emotions, people with BPD experience emotional lability, or changeability. This phenomenon, sometimes called splitting or black and white thinking, includes a shift from idealizing others (feeling great admiration and love) to devaluing them (feeling great anger or dislike).[17] Combined with mood disturbances, idealization and devaluation can undermine relationships with family, friends, and co workers.[18] Self image can also change rapidly from very positive to very negative. While strongly desiring intimacy, people with BPD tend toward insecure, avoidant or ambivalent, or fearfully preoccupied attachment patterns in relationships,[19] and they often view the world as generally dangerous and malevolent.[16] BPD is linked to increased levels of chronic stress and conflict in romantic relationships, decreased satisfaction of romantic partners, abuse and unwanted pregnancy. However, these factors appear to be linked to personality disorders in general.[20]Manipulation to obtain nurturance is considered to be a common feature of BPD by many who treat the disorder, as well as by the DSM IV.[21][22] However, some mental health professionals caution that an overemphasis on, and an overly broad definition of, "manipulation" can lead to misunderstanding and prejudicial treatment of people with BPD, particularly within the health care system.[23] See and under .Self harm and suicidal behaviorSelf harming or suicidal behavior is one of the core diagnostic criteria in the DSM IV TR. of and recovery from this behavior can be complex and challenging.[24] The suicide rate among patients with BPD is 8 to 10 percent.[25][26]Self injury is common, and can take place with or without suicidal intent.[27][28] The reported reasons for non suicidal self injury (NSSI) differ from the reasons for suicide attempts.[11] Reasons for NSSI include expressing anger, self punishment, generating normal feelings (often in response to dissociation), and distracting oneself from emotional pain or difficult circumstances.[11] In contrast, suicide attempts typically reflect a belief that others will be better off following the suicide.[11] Both suicidal and non suicidal self injury are a response to feeling negative emotions.[11]Sexual abuse can be a particular trigger for suicidal behavior in adolescents with BPD tendencies.[29] of borderline personality disorder is based on a clinical assessment by a qualified mental health professional. The assessment consists of the client's self reported experiences as well as the clinician's observations. With permission from the client, the assessment may include interviews with friends or family members.Diagnostic and Statistical ManualThe Diagnostic and Statistical Manual of Mental Disorders fourth edition (DSM IV TR) has criteria for borderline personality disorder in Axis II Cluster B[2] that Wholesale Jerseys can be found on behavenet. Coach McNulty (R) along with friend and North Central www.wholesalesnapbackshats.us.com Coach, Rick Stover (L)

On Tuesday, May 29th, I had the great opportunity to sit down and talk with Coach of Warren Central. As we all know, on May 21st, he announced he will be retiring from coaching after 35 amazing years. chi hair dryer

I had only met Coach McNulty on a few occasions nothing formal in passing at a meet and through my coaching mentors, Kent Graham and Gabe Porras. I remember the first time I did meet him at the Maconaquah Invitational in 2009. My attention was instantly caught by Coach Mac charismatic personality. I think most people would say the same about him. After sitting down with him for this interview, I only wish I had the opportunity to get to know him better as a coach prior to his retirement. The old clich of a coach helping and teaching his athletes the ways of life through sports gets thrown around a lot. But after hearing the stories of Coach McNulty career, spending 25 years at a school with 70% of the population unable to even pay for their lunches in full, I left inspired and amazed at the kind of person he is. He always went out of his way to help those who needed it from picking kids up at home and taking them to school and practice in the mornings to finding shoes for his athletes who were running in soles worn all the way to the ground. It takes a special individual to want to help children for that long in that type of situation. Words can describe the type of character Coach Mac represents.

Below you will find chi hair straightener my transcribed interview with Coach McNulty. Grad Grad of Indiana Central College (Now University of Indianapolis) in 1977

An interview with Gary Brown

An interview with Gary Brown

The well known cliche "it takes a whole village to raise a child" brings out the best in fellow human beings. We all need the synergy of human connectedness and mentoring to succeed.

Brown encompasses values that weave a tapestry of centeredness. He is family oriented, enjoying activities with his two daughters and son. Coaching was the natural career progression for Brown. Coaching affords him the opportunity to "help others achieve what they want to be." He enjoys "helping players fulfill their potential." Indeed, wise insight into Wholesale Hats leadership excellence.

Two additional ingredients in Brown's recipe for coaching include teamwork and goal setting; both of which he agrees are essential. As a Dallas Cowboys fan, it was music to my ears to hear Brown say that the Dallas Cowboys is a great organization an organization that has been very supportive of him and his family during Malena's illness. He loves the Dallas, Texas, area and enjoys the history and all that it has to offer. Growing up, he didn't have a favorite NFL team but his favorite player is running back, Tony Dorsett who played for the Cowboys from 1977 1987.

Looking toward the future, Brown would like to chi hair dryer be a head coach (not necessarily in the NFL) one day. Based on his experience and solid insightful values, he would make an excellent leader that any organization could appreciate.

another crazy year at United

United owner Gulf Finance House refuses to add Ashley Barnes to the squad, deeming him a worse player than Luke Varney. The deals pay off as Leeds are beaten 6 0 at Sheffield Wednesday the following weekend.

GFH toy with the idea of sacking McDermott but are more concerned about selling the club. Another defeat to Leicester City follows (watched by a certain Massimo Cellino) and within days, the members of the Sport Capital consortium lose patience with each other.

His attempt to place Gianluca Festa on the bench for a 1 1 draw at home to Ipswich is as warmly received by McDermott as Festa's impromptu appearances at Thorp Arch. But on January 31, Cellino agrees a 75 per cent buy out and takes the club under Wholesale Sunglasses his wing.

McDermott is sacked, acting chief executive Paul Hunt is sacked and club captain Ross McCormack the subject of a bid from Cardiff is refused an audience with Cellino after driving to Elland Road to ask what is going on. The Italian is rather more spooked by the fans who show up at the stadium to point out the error of his ways; or, as Cellino puts it, "kick my ae" and chase his taxi around the ground. Nigel Gibbs and Neil Redfearn take charge of the squad and United annihilate Huddersfield Town 5 1.

Talks aimed at re instating McDermott are in progress and he sweeps back into Thorp Arch 48 hours later for a packed, 53 minute press conference. Nonetheless, Cellino and GFH sign off his takeover on February 7, meaning the club will be his if the Football League approves him. Leeds need his money. No one is paying any bills and Enterprise Insurance, the club's shirt sponsor, serve United with a winding up petition over a loan of 1.5m.

On the footballing side, poor old Andrea Tabanelli spends a week in England, only to find that his loan from Cagliari on transfer deadline day a Cellino signing wasn't registered properly. He and McDermott are talking but McDermott suspects his time is up. On March 18, however, Cellino is convicted of tax evasion by a court in Cagliari. The Football League checks its Owners and Directors Test and decides to block the 57 year old's takeover. Cellino immediately appeals.

United are up the creek financially and those at the top start passing the buck. The installation of a 3G artificial pitch at Thorp Arch grinds to a halt as the money dries up and worse still, staff and player wages go unpaid as Cellino refuses to fund a club he might not be able to buy. As a 'source' tells the Daily Mail: "GFH are refusing to put in any more money and Cellino has told them to off."Crucial moments as Cellino's appeal is heard. A date is set for announcing the verdict Friday, April 4 at 5pm but the Football League decides that 3pm on Saturday might be better, 45 minutes after the end of Leeds' 1 0 defeat at Wigan.

When the verdict comes, Cellino wins. In a statement the League says this was "never about individual personalities" and qualifies that by suggesting it will revisit Cellino's fit http://www.buyreplicaoakleys.com/ and proper status at a later date.

Cellino gets to work quickly, paying off an overdue tax bill and settling a few scores. David Haigh, Leeds' managing director (or "the devil" as Cellino calls him), resigns in the knowledge that his relationship with the Italian is cooked. Before long, the two sides are making allegations about spy cameras in the boardroom and the use of class A drugs at Elland Road.

McDermott waits for a no holds barred meeting with Cellino which never comes and mentally, United's boss is already packing his bags. Cellino officially buys Leeds on April 7 and United www.cheapsunglasseswholesale.us.com take a pasting at Watford the following night. Leeds finish 15th in the table. He and Cellino both attend the end of season awards ceremony but barely speak.

Soon after, United's training ground at Thorp Arch is closed for the summer and a huge redundancy process starts at Elland Road. Club secretary Ali Royston is suspended over nobody is quite sure what (she's back at Thorp Arch now) and Under 16s coach Leigh Bromby is allowed to move on. Under 18s coach Richard Naylor is also put on notice of redundancy. Meanwhile, Leeds release 13 players including Michael Brown and El Hadji Diouf. No arguments there.

A bolt from the blue comes from the Middle East as GFH invites David Haigh to Dubai to discuss a job offer, only to have him arrested for alleged financial misconduct. But McDermott is the priority United's manager in name alone by then. He and the club are communicating via terse emails, and Cellino in his infamous "where's Brian?" speech accuses McDermott of going absent without leave. The former Reading boss is actually with his terminally ill mother in Berkshire. There is only one conceivable outcome and on May 30, Cellino agrees to pay McDermott off. Gibbs says he would rather move on and is subsequently made to sit through daily 9 to 5 shifts at Elland Road.

United's players are recalled from their holidays early for one to one buyreplicaoakleys.com meetings with the club's president. There's doubt over Ross McCormack's future and more again when Fulham bid 5m for him.

By now, Cellino has ideas in place for his next head coach. He likes Reading's Eamonn Dolan but Reading want more than 500,000 for their academy boss so Cellino works Wikipedia hard by naming David Hockaday as McDermott's successor, with Junior Lewis as his number two. They rattle 16 unanswered goals past a village side, FC Gherdeina, and then play a game amongst themselves later in the week after their Romanian opponents fail to show up.

Coach Bruce Arians promised he'd use a short hook on rookie quarterback Logan Thomas after naming him the starter for Sunday's game at San Francisco. It was short, all right about the quickest hook in NFL history.

Thomas lost his chance to be the team's fourth different starting quarterback of the season due mainly to a pitiful practice performance on Wednesday.

Now it's back to third string Ryan Lindley, Arians confirmed, amid news Friday that Drew Stanton underwent arthroscopic surgery earlier this week on his injured right knee, and team doctors discovered he has been dealing with an infection that led to massive swelling in the knee.

Stanton stayed home on Friday and will remain there louboutin shoes replica throughout the weekend as he is treated for the infection, but Arians said "he's on schedule" to be ready when the playoffs arrive.

Cardinals vs. 49ers: Kent Somers' scouting report, prediction

That could be as early as next weekend and most likely involves a wild card road game at either Atlanta or Carolina. If the Cardinals beat the 49ers and Seattle were to lose at home to the Rams, however, Arizona would win the NFC West; if the Packers also lose to the Lions, the Cardinals would win the No. 1 seed in the NFC.

"I have no idea about infections and all that; you can talk to the doctors about that stuff. He's on schedule for next week," Arians said of Stanton. "He's at home, he'll stay there and rehab over the weekend and be ready to go next week, hopefully.

"That's what we've hoping for all along."

Arians said his decision to turn back to Lindley had nothing to do with Stanton's status.

"We will start Ryan Lindley in the ballgame strictly because of the evaluation process of during the week he's going to give us a better chance of winning this game," Arians said. "Like I've said earlier, Logan's going to be a hell of a player one of these days, but right now he's not ready."

None of the quarterbacks were available for comment on www.replicachristianlouboutin.com Friday.

Asked what he saw in practice from Thomas on Wednesday to make the switch a day later to Lindley, Arians said: "The ball wasn't in the spots it needed to be. He was throwing it well, but not to the right guys. He just hasn't had enough reps to go against this defense, which is one of the best five defenses in the National Football League."

Then Arians admitted he might have made a mistake.

"It was probably a poor decision on my part to early announce it, but it is what it is and we're going to do what we need to do to win the football game and that's to start Ryan. I was hoping (Thomas) could handle it, but it's not the time right now."

Lindley was 18 of 44 for 216 yards with no touchdowns and an interception last Sunday night in a 35 6 loss at home to the Seahawks, his first start since 2012. His performance left Cardinals fans scratching their heads, but Arians backed Lindley once again on Friday, saying the rout can't be pinned on the quarterback's shoulders.

More: Cardinals' offense searching for output vs. 49ers

"The ball was to the right spots. We missed a couple balls that we needed to catch and not jump off sides on third and three on the goal line," www.replicachristianlouboutin.us.com the coach said. "Score touchdowns and he'll be fine. Ryan didn't damn sure lose that game."

Arians scoffed when asked if the roulette game he's had to play at the quarterback position has worn down his players, emotionally.

"No," he said defiantly. "If your defense shuts the other team out, you're not going to lose. Ain't got a damn thing to do with the quarterback. It's simple. So, hopefully, we'll scratch out some more points and be able to win the game."

In The Anatomy of Violence, Adrian Raine makes a strong case often based on his own research that distinct biological traits shape criminal behaviour

SUPPOSE you had to predict which kids in a roomful of 3 year olds at your local preschool were likely to grow up to be violent criminals. How would you decide?

Most of us would probably round up the usual sociological suspects, and check whether a child comes from a broken or abusive home, is part of a family living below the poverty line, or has a parent who is a convicted criminal. But there's an easier way, says Adrian Raine: just measure their resting heart rate. His research shows that lower heart rates are a better indicator of criminal behaviour than smoking is of lung cancer.

In The Anatomy of Violence Raine, a criminologist at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, uses this and other evidence much of it unearthed by himself over decades of research to build a convincing case that violent criminals are biologically different from the rest of us.

Ignoring stress's social background puts the burden of change on the poor (Image: Steve Liss/Polaris/Eyevine)

Two opposing strategies for dealing with the stress of modern life have been put forward by Dana Becker and Marc Shoen, but which is best?

STRESS is the epidemic of our age, or so it seems: a disfiguring consequence of modern life that we all succumb to from time to time. Yet it is hard to know what it really is, other than a miscellany of physical and psychological symptoms covering everything from anxiety to hypertension. It speaks of brass beads and rice piles, of power laws and positive feedback, of phase changes, chaos and complexity. Resembling an actual science, it might come to have some bearing on the real world and help reduce future financial catastrophes. That is the main message of Mark Buchanan's new book, Forecast.

In Present Shock, Douglas Rushkoff says everyday technologies have destroyed our sense of perspective, but his insights need better backup

TOWARDS the end of Present Shock, the media theorist Douglas Rushkoff describes a radio talk show participant called Cheryl. She had phoned in to discuss the white trails that aircraft leave behind as they pass www.wholesalejerseysusa.us.com overhead.

Like other followers of the "chemtrail" conspiracy theory, Cheryl argued that these clouds contain chemicals that governments are distributing for some unknown but certainly nefarious purpose. Perhaps, she suggested, the aim was the creation of a planet wide system for causing earthquakes. "Illuminating," replied the host, apparently in earnest.

Rushkoff knows why people like Cheryl think the way they do. In recent decades, he says, everyday technologies have forced us into a discombobulated state of constant alert. Our phones beep around the clock with news of emails, tweets and text messages. And entertainment networks have largely abandoned long form narratives in favour of the strobe like intensity of reality television.

The travelling salesman problem still defies the most powerful computers (Image: Quentin Bertoux/Agence Vu)

Lance Fortnow shows how an esoteric mathematical problem has deep implications for our future in The Golden Ticket: P, NP, and the search for the impossible

IT SEEMS as if computers can do almost anything. Serve up the world's knowledge in an instant? No problem. Simulate a human brain? Working on it.

But are there some tasks that computers will never be able to perform, no matter how powerful they become? This question forms the basis of one of the most important problems in computer science and mathematics, known by the esoteric name: P versus NP.

The definition of this problem is tricky and technical, but in The Golden Ticket, Lance Fortnow cleverly sidesteps the issue with a boiled down version. P is the collection of problems we can solve quickly, NP is the collection of problems we would like to solve. If P = NP, computers can answer all the questions we pose and our world is changed forever.

Big Data: A revolution that will transform how we live by Viktor Mayer Sch and Kenneth Cukier alternates between enthusiasm and apocalyptic caution

IN A former life I was a research assistant. After painstaking weeks spent gathering data, I was tasked with putting the numbers into a statistics application that would help us deduce our trends.

While I was analysing the figures, my boss peered over my shoulder and pointed at a record on the screen. "Get rid of that one," I was told. "Also that one, that one, that one and that one." They were outliers and they were going to mess up the findings. "You're never going to trust science again," said my superior with a rueful laugh.

But if you believe Viktor Mayer Sch and Kenneth Cukier, science will be just fine because such practices are about to become as archaic as leeching.

Big data seemed to reach the apex of its hype cycle around 2012, when journalists and experts variously extolled its virtues or wrung their hands about its implications. And yet, somehow it remained elusive: what exactly was it? This book answers that question.

First, then, a definition. Big data describes the idea that everything can be digitised and "datafied" thanks to cheaper storage, faster processing and better algorithms. And that really means everything, from your current location or liking for strawberry pop tarts, to your propensity for misspelling and degree of personal compassion. And not just your data: everyone's data. Could biased sample sets be at the root of many failed attempts to replicate experiments?

Whatever the answer, store everything and the need for proxies disappears. Instead of formulating hypotheses and then looking for confirmation in small, error prone trials or experiments, scientists now have the storage, processing and algorithmic sifting power to simply trawl through the constellation of all data and spot trends.
