On Tuesday, May 29th, I had the great opportunity to sit down and talk with Coach of Warren Central. As we all know, on May 21st, he announced he will be retiring from coaching after 35 amazing years. chi hair dryer

I had only met Coach McNulty on a few occasions nothing formal in passing at a meet and through my coaching mentors, Kent Graham and Gabe Porras. I remember the first time I did meet him at the Maconaquah Invitational in 2009. My attention was instantly caught by Coach Mac charismatic personality. I think most people would say the same about him. After sitting down with him for this interview, I only wish I had the opportunity to get to know him better as a coach prior to his retirement. The old clich of a coach helping and teaching his athletes the ways of life through sports gets thrown around a lot. But after hearing the stories of Coach McNulty career, spending 25 years at a school with 70% of the population unable to even pay for their lunches in full, I left inspired and amazed at the kind of person he is. He always went out of his way to help those who needed it from picking kids up at home and taking them to school and practice in the mornings to finding shoes for his athletes who were running in soles worn all the way to the ground. It takes a special individual to want to help children for that long in that type of situation. Words can describe the type of character Coach Mac represents.
